Hey everyone! May is definitely proving to be one of our busiest yet. Yael and I have been busy meeting up with great people but also working on some new things for the future. As you know, we are in existence because of some great film students who have donated their time and amazing talents into making this show great. We are so thankful to have them! However, its towards the end of the school year and that means exams and final projects are upon them.
So we are using the next two weeks to catch up on some of the amazing interviews we need to edit while we work on our next big thing! You thought LA was big? MUW is getting ready for some big and exciting changes. So keep checking back, keep an eye out for our email updates and we will be meeting up again very soon!

Earth Day should be everyday!
Yes, its nice that we have a national day celebrating our planet and every initiative in favor of the environment. Nonetheless, once April 22th is gone, we tend to forget that it does not take that much to protect our planet. And the planet is angry right now: Over the past 3 months only, several earthquakes hit different countries, including the catastropher in Haiti, and now the volcano ragging in Iceland. Earth Day should be everyday !We can all do a few daily little things to make it better.
This Sunday, April 25th, we are all gathering at South Pointe Park (in Miami Beach, FL) at 3:30pm to clean the beach. Well go from South Pointe to 5th st, walking on the sand and picking up everything that shouldnt be on the beach. Once we get back to our starting point, well all enjoy snacks and live music. As we say in French: "Apres leffort, le recomfort"
Big thank you to ItsinMiami for organizing this Earth Day Sunday, and to Ombu Shoe for being part of it as well. The motto: "Leave No Waste!" MUW invites all our viewers to join the adventure. We all want to live in a cleaner place, right?! See you there."

What a month!
March has just been amazing in so many ways! The show has truly been blessed in so many ways and we have picked up tremendous speed! Now the challenge is to stay on top of our game and continue to move forward with editing all the amazing footage we have in LA and getting them on our site. As always thanks again for all the support ! Happy Birthday shout outs go to my dear friends Brigette and Kiran who both celebrated their days in fun ways. New blog entry tomorrow to kick off the start of the month! Tomorrow is April fools so I am going to make sure to keep a look out for all the pranksters out there! -Angie

MUW is growing up:
To all the ladies in Miami this weekend, make sure to stop by the 2nd Annual Women Exhibit at the Convention Center (Miami Beach) on Saturday: This event is all about us and for us, bringing together women of all ages and all professions. Lots of workshops and opportunities to network.
Now, do you remember Dreamgirls ? Not only the movie with Beyonce, but the original Broadway play. Well, we met with the original Dreamgirl, Sheryl Lee Ralph, looking fabulous in her red dress. Dear viewers, make sure to watch the "Night of 100 Stars" video, on our home page. Thank you Sheryl for giving us some of your time and for shedding light on such important topic as AIDS.
Thumbs up to Ed Begley Jr. for his "green" efforts in favor of the environment, from his house built for solar energy to growing his own food. The planet needs us to follow his lead.
MUW is growing up. We are so proud and excited about the response our L.A coverage is already getting. Our director Beverley just told me that only a day or two after uploading Lorenzo Lamas interview on youtube, we already have more than 108 views. Big thank you to our followers :)_ Yael

A Dream come true!
You can ask many of my friends, theyll all tell you that every year when the Awards season comes, I always say: "I want to attend the Grammy Awards, the Golden Globes, and especially the Oscars". This year, I got so close to be part of the Oscars ceremony that I feel like my dream came true. Indeed, Angie & I had the amazing opportunity to cover Oscars events in Los Angeles, CA!
There is so much to say about our L.A trip! So much happened within only 2 days! I feel beyond lucky and grateful for everything we experiences this past weekend.
We covered red carpet arrivals at some of the top events during the most important weekend in the entertainment industry. At the Multicultural Motion Picture Associations 17th Annual Diversity Luncheon, we interviewed Quinton Aaron, lead actor in the Oscar nominated film "The Blind Side" (what a sweet man). We talked to Lorenzo Lamas, local News reporter Chris Schauble (very handsome and giving), and Jarvee Hutcherson, founder of the MMPA. Then, at the Night of 100 Stars, we interviewed Bo Derek, Scott Baio (mesmerized by Angies necklace), Larry Hagman from the TV series "Dallas", and Doris Roberts from "Everybody Loves Raymond". Many Oscar winners attend this event every year; and after only a few months of existence "Meeting Up With" was there too!
When we were not filming, we got to go to "hush hush" places, where celebs go regularly and enjoy some pleasant time off, away from the paparazzi flashes. On Friday night, we actually walked in at the same time as Sarah Jessica Parker and husband! Yes, we had dinner a few tables away from Carrie Bradshaw.
Although Bev & Angie had to fly back to Miami before me I got to stay in Hollywood for a few more days. When the people in charge of booking my room told me that the hotel was really close to the Kodak Theater, I did not expect it to be literally stuck to the famous theater. There is no word to describe how surprised I felt when I looked down the window and saw the Oscar statue! I lit up and smiled: I could see the entrance of the Academy Awards from my room! I rushed down to the hotel lobby where everyone was watching the ceremony, and it was all over Meryl Streep walked by the hotel where her limo was waiting for her. She looked so elegant. I will always remember my Oscars Sunday in Hollywood.
As Walt Disney used to say: "If you can dream it, you can do it. Always remember this whole thing was started by a mouse." The goal for next year: to actually attend the Oscars. In the meantime, I want to thank a million times everyone who made this out-of-this world experience possible, especially Lizz Russell, Jarvee Hutcherson, and Tony."

Oscar Gifting Suite
Waking up in Los Angeles is as exciting as going out and running into SJP because it represents a full day of opportunity. Yesterday was a perfect example of that! So this morning just smelled of excitement. Yael, Beverly and I spent the morning shopping. As it turned out, we have the opportunity to cover the second best event after the Oscars; a Night of 100 Stars tomorrow night. All press has to dress up, so we went to the mall to make sure we have everything we need.
Prior to this trip I learned of a free one hour workshop that was going to be held at the Underground Annex Theatre in Beverly Hills. So I rsvped for us to go and we were confirmed. Thank goodness we went! The workshop was about enhancing your presence as an actor. The small studio filled up working and aspiring actors as well as film makers. The lady giving the workshop was named Susan and she is currently a script supervisor.
Her resume reads like an Academy Awards nomination list which includes Forrest Gump, Platoon, Born on Fourth of July, and Collateral.
Susan explained the importance of not just knowing your lines, but also understanding the technical side of film making. This is where I think Beverly could really relate to. Actors who understand the equipment being used, know the crew on a first name basis, understand lighting and can use all of this knowledge to improve their performance, are the ones that win. Though her session was for the actor I felt that our team could really benefit from her advice as well.
After the workshop something incredible happened! Gina, a friend of Yaels back in Miami, called and said that she had a press pass for us for the Oscar gifting suite!!! Really? Yeah Baby! I knew the day was going to rock!

Oscar weekend in full effect!
Our first full day in Los Angeles was beyond amazing! We woke up bright and early and drove to Beverly Hills 90210 for the Multicultural Motion Picture Association Diversity Awards Luncheon. It was the main reason we came to LA and it proved to be one of the best decisions ever!
When we first arrived MMPA and hotel staff were still setting up. There were a few other media crews there as well getting organized. I was definitely feeling surreal as we walked past the step and repeat and over to a free space next to the red ropes.
The celebrities started trickling in about an half an hour later and the fun began. We interviewed Quinton Aaron, Lorenzo Lamas, Academy Award nominee Rick GoldSmith, MMPA President Jarvee Hutcherson and so many other incredible talents. We cant wait for all the footage to be up and running! Jarvee thank you SOO much again!
After the red carpet event we decided to go home and change and hit the town. Several people at the luncheon suggested several places we should go. We started off at Kress but when we got there we decided that it reminded us too much of clubs in Miami. So we headed off to another location, which was supposedly the true hot spot of where all the celebrities go to avoid chaos and paparazzi. Sorry guys but we are not telling you what it is
But I will say this, this hidden gem in Hollywood did not disappoint. Just a few seconds after walking into the restaurant, Sarah Jessica Parker walked in!! I almost fainted. Like millions of women out there, I LOVE SJP and Sex and the City. Yael and I could not believe that we were standing just one foot away from her!
After a little of the star struckness wore off we settled at the bar next to another actor! Patrick Bergen, who I recognized as the husband from Sleeping with the Enemy with Julia Roberts, was sitting next to us. Patrick told us about his up and coming movie, which he said is going to be the biggest role of his career. We are really excited for this and Patrick if you read this bloggood luck! It was great chatting over wine.
By the time we left this magical celebrity hideaway, we went home and fell asleep! We were exhausted. What a day!!!!!!!!

Food & Wine Festival!
"The Food & Wine Festival is one of the highlights of the year. Every February, the culinary worlds most famous names take over Miami Beach for our greatest pleasure. A big Thank You to Lisa Palley, who made it possible for us to cover the Burger Bash hosted by Rachel Ray on Thursday. It was packed. Restaurants from all over the country cooked their best burger recipes, and the lines to get one of those were impressively long. Nice to see you Booby Flay! Daniel Boulud was there too. He was this year's honored chef at Saturdays Tribute Dinner. He has built himself a solid name in New York City, has restaurants in London, Beijing, Palm Beach, and apparently here is the scoop he will soon open a restaurant here in Miami. We definitely look forward to the opening.
Sunday Funday ! For sure ! The tasting tents at the Festival are always fun to walk through. So many restaurants, so many delish samples, and of course a wide variety of wines. And we get to taste it. We also get to attend live demos from top chefs: Emeril Lagasse, Paula Dean, Anthony Bourdain, etc. Check out the photos: we got a shot of Anthony Bourdain and Daisy Martinez. we sat at Rocco DiSpiritos demo, the last one of the weekend; and it was quite an entertaining moment! Not only handsome, he is fun and full of energy ! No wonder hes had so many TV appearances. Congrats Rocco on the new book ! Thank you for cutting down so many calories on our favorite dishes and sharing the recipes with us. By the way, the brownie at your demo was very yummy. Looking forward to having you on MUW.
Next year will be an even bigger event as the Festival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. We definitely hope to be part of the festivities."

The Countdown begins!
There are 4 more days till Hollywood! MUW is going to LA and we could not be more excited about it!
This past weekend was the perfect kickoff to what is going to be a hectic but amazing week. Saturday morning I woke up bright and early to drive over to Ft. Myers. An upcoming and talented designer and friend was having a basketball shoot out event. Bilal Russell is a force that cannot be stopped! His clothing line called BADL, which stands for Ball All Day Long, is fresh and unique.
We first met through a mutual friend Jason, who wanted me to speak to Bilal about PR. After the first conversation with him I was impressed and I knew that I wanted to learn more about his clothing line and his charitable acts.
This past Saturday the 27th, I drove to Ft. Myers BADLs 3-Point shoot out. This event was designed to bring together the best 3 point shooters, male or female, from Lee, Collier, Dade, Hillsborough and Broward counties to have a good time in a positive environment.
I saw such incredible talent in all age groups! Next month, which starts tomorrow, we are going to interview Bilal and bring you all the information on what makes this man tick. Oh did I mention he is also a firefighter? I know this interview is going to rock. The MUW team will be traveling to Ft. Myers for the interview and while we are there we plan on bring you some other goodies too!
We leave for LA on Thursday and we will blog and take lots of pictures! So please stay tuned!!!

Thumbs up Angie ! Thumbs up Andy :)
Today was one of these days where everything seemed to be a Godsent, a gift from up above.
Sick at home this morning, I suddendly got a text from Angie reading "Ready for some good news ?" I thought: "Yeeeahh, I'm always ready for good news!", but I did not expect it to be such Huge news. Angie made it happen: We are going to the Multicultural Motion Pictures Association's Oscars Luncheon ! OMG !! After only a few months of existence, MUW will be covering the event, in Los Angeles, and it is such an honor ! Thank you Lizz Russell, President Jarvee Hucherson and everyone who is giving us this great opportunity!
Later this evening, I attended a pre-screening of Andy Garcia's new movie, City Island. I was part of the press crowd: I got to see a film a whole month before it opens publicly, on March 26th; and it made me realize once again that a world of opportunities is opening to us. "The sky is the limit" kind of feeling!
Ladies & gents, mark your calendar: go see City Island. It is a funny movie, with its twisted take on family life. You'll enjoy it.
I look forward to telling you what happens next. The countdown started: in one week, we'll be flying to California.

Blogs title: What a Fabulous week!
First of all, THANK YOU Angie for acknowledging my birthday on your blog !
You're not only a dear friend; youre also a great co-host ! Together, we'll make MUW a huge success!
What a birthday week! The surprises kept on coming, and Super Bowl falling the same week, it was just perfect timing. Friends came to celebrate despite the heavy rain, and I probably had 3 birthday cakes - lol. Then lots of celebs sightings: Rihanna, Timbaland on Thursday, Spike Lee, Jamie Foxx & Usher on Saturday. Here again, thumbs up to Angie who made it happen! Another great surprise! Miami became another world during Super Bowl weekend, and I loved the high energy floating everywhere. People came from all over, making the Magic City hotter than hot ! Congrats to the New Orleans Saints!
We are now getting ready for Food & Wine Fest. Stay tuned: we will take you behind the scenes! -Yael
